OUR STORY

It started with a can we couldn't throw away.

Every Classicans piece begins the same way ours did — a can that meant something sitting on a desk instead of going in the bin. A favorite drink, a trip, a night with friends. We started cutting them apart and rebuilding them as something worth keeping on a wall, instead of something that gets crushed and forgotten.

No printing, no paint, no shortcuts. If the color's on the piece, it was on the can first. That's the whole idea — the art was already there, we just had to cut it free.

HOW A CAN BECOMES ART

Four cuts, one frame.

Every Classicans piece follows the same honest sequence — nothing is printed or painted on top of the metal. The color you see is the color the can was made with.

Collect & clean

Cans are sourced, rinsed, and de-labelled by hand. We keep the ones with color and print worth saving.

Cut

Tin snips separate every scale, feather, or letter from the sheet — flattened and de-burred, piece by piece.

Shape & layer

Cut pieces are curved, overlapped, and built up like a collage until the subject has depth and motion.

Frame & finish

Mounted on board, sealed, and set behind glass in a solid frame — ready to hang, dust-free, for years.

FROM THE WORKBENCH

One can, fully used.

Every offcut of the source can finds a home in the piece — the logo, the nutrition panel, the pull-tab, the barcode. Nothing about the original can is hidden; it's rearranged.

Every scrap counts

The label, the tab, the barcode strip, even the nutrition panel — all cut and repositioned as texture and type inside the piece, so the can's own printing does double duty as art.

Built to hang, not just look

Pieces are mounted flat on board and framed under glass, so raw cut edges stay safely out of reach while the color stays exactly as bright as the day the can was made.
